The Battle of the Founders (BOTF) is not your average pitch event - it's a three phase competition that welcomes all founders to benefit from OnMarket and their partner's knowledge in innovation and investment - but only three will receive the ultimate prize.

BOTF focuses on equity crowdfunding, teaching Australian founders the ins and outs of raising capital as well as how to perfect their pitch through a hands-on workshop. Post workshop, all interested founders can submit an application to battle at the pitch night.

 

Then, finalists are selected and go head-to-head in a pitch-off. The audience votes for their favourite startup while a panel of three external experts select the winner and runner up.

 

And the prize? All three winners raise capital via OnMarket at no upfront cost and on a timeline of their choice - an incredible opportunity for any startup looking to take their business to the next level.

Following an overwhelming response from the NSW startup community in 2022, in 2023 we took the competition interstate, with the support of Advance Queensland! Running simultaneously, entrepreneurs from both NSW and QLD had the opportunity to battle in their state of residency and benefit from the education fuelled three-stage program.

​

The pitch night saw combined audiences of over 400 people, demonstrating the market appetite for Battle of the Founders as well as the flourishing innovation scene in Queensland and New South Wales.
